Limited-edition & Co-branded Products
BUILDING BRAND AWARENESS THROUGH COLLABORATION
Art Direction // Branding // Digital // Copywriting
Overview
As Tivoli Audio looked to expand its brand awareness, co-branding and collaborations were obvious avenues to take advantage of. I was lucky to design or direct marketing efforts around each of these products.
Supreme
World-famous lifestyle brand meets premium audio
Supreme contacted Tivoli Audio to customize an existing product with their iconic logo and style for their Spring/Summer 2018 drop. Knowing the start of Supreme was deeply entrenched in skateboard culture and the importance music plays in that on-the-go lifestyle, the team immediately leaned into the PAL BT due to its portability. In the design process, I drew inspiration from the original supreme stickers and how one would look wrapped around the sides and top of the radio. To truly make the logo stand out, I ditched the white back, knobs, and grill the radio was produced with at the time and changed the radio to all red to make the Supreme logo stand out. Dropped exclusively by Supreme, this limited edition introduced Tivoli Audio to thousands of customers worldwide.
Brad Leone Collaboration
Chef crafts a tasteful limited- edition
Best known for his antics on Bon Appétit, chef Brad Leone worked with our product development team to customize a Model One BT with a locally produced hand-crafted spalted maple cabinet. To accompany this product launch, the team shot a video for the vlog series, Behind the Dial, which I scheduled and attended and was responsible for styling, photography, and production of all necessary content. Post-shoot I coordinated with the video team editing the video, teaser trailer, and other necessary assets for the campaign launch while designing and executing the campaign landing page, web content, and social media posts.
With a focus on the craftsmanship of local food and the beauty of the naturally produced wood cabinets, the campaign utilized all the digital channels at Tivoli Audio’s disposal and quickly sold out of the 100 units produced.
PWRFWD & Invest in Women
Limited-edition drop with Kelsey Trainer & Terance Mann
As Kelsey Trainor has pointed out, words matter, but words are simple to say and actions are the hard part. Utilizing the important message and graphics, Invest in women. Pay women. Hire women. PWRFWD teamed up with Tivoli Audio to push a limited-edition drop directly to their community to benefit Terance Mann’s selected charity, the Boys & Girls Club of Lowell, MA. I was tasked with designing and executing the printing of the limited-edition PAL BT utilizing the well-known graphic worn by athletes nationwide. To emphasize the exclusivity of the product, Kelsey Trainor and Terance Mann’s signatures were added. In addition, I was responsible for working with the video team to finalize the vlog episode for Behind the Dial that accompanied the drop to increase the visibility of our involvement and inform our existing customers through our website and all social media channels.
Ghostly International
Unique design for an independent label
Known for its experimental electronic musicians, artists, and designers, Ghostly International contacted Tivoli audio to produce a radio that reflected their style. Ghostly founder, Sam Valenti, selected the Model One BT because of its universal capabilities and analog style. I was charged with creating a design that would blend seamlessly with other products they offer on their webshop. I used the iconic ghost logo in black on the silver speaker grill to create visual balance with the tuning knob. For the wordmark logo, I wanted to play on the idea of it hardly appearing, like a ghost. Knowing the ink would be slightly glossy and subtly appear, even if printed in black, I selected the top of the unit for placement. The final product fit the Ghostly style perfectly and sold out immediately on their site. In addition to being responsible for the radio design, I managed the printing and in-house photography for use by our internal team and Ghostly’s website.
Harpoon Brewery
Bringing summer together with music & beer
Fellow Boston brand, Harpoon Brewery, contacted Tivoli Audio to create a small run of custom portable radios to celebrate summer. For the design, they specifically requested the use of their full logo, which due to the existing silkscreen on the radio face, limited its inclusion to only the top or the sides. To make this radio feel like a Harpoon Brewery product and recognizable to its fans, I added the beer cap logo to the large tuning knob. They loved the design, commenting that they never used the cap logo but it made the product feel special. Harpoon ordered a short run, using them as gifts, in online giveaways, and possible inclusion in their merchandise store.
